Families are an integral part of the treatment team and we encourage them to be active participants in their loved one’s recovery process. We believe that open and consistent communication is critical to ensure that participants achieve their goals. We offer weekly phone or email updates on their loved one’s progress, and we welcome feedback and questions.
In accordance with the wishes of the participant, families are also encouraged to visit their loved one’s sessions regularly and are welcome to join in special activities. In addition, families and guardians are invited to participate in all formal conferences with the clinical team to review progress made, provide input, and establish new goals.
We understand that brain injury and other neurological challenges impacts not only the participant, but the entire family as well. We offer sessions – with and without the participant – for families coping with the challenges of a brain or other neurological condition. Coaching for our program participant’s family is offered in order to make the process as successful as possible.
